Organisation: Earth Village CIC
Our Approach
Earth Village CIC recognises that many people engaging in wellbeing, sexuality, embodiment and community work may carry experiences of trauma, marginalisation or emotional vulnerability.
We are committed to offering trauma-informed spaces that prioritise consent, nervous system awareness, participant autonomy and emotional safety.
We do not position ourselves as a clinical mental health service.
Core Principles
Safety
We aim to create environments that support:
Emotional safety
Physical safety
Psychological choice
Clear boundaries
Predictability and transparency
Choice & Consent
Participation is always voluntary.
Participants are encouraged to:
Opt in or out freely
Change their mind at any time
Set personal boundaries
Take breaks when needed
Decline exercises without explanation
Consent is ongoing, informed and reversible.
Empowerment
We seek to support people in reconnecting with:
Personal agency
Self-awareness
Body autonomy
Voice and expression
Healthy relational boundaries
Facilitators aim to avoid dependency dynamics and encourage self-responsibility.
Collaboration
We value relational and participatory approaches rather than hierarchical authority.
Facilitators are encouraged to:
Listen actively
Avoid coercive language
Welcome feedback
Repair ruptures where possible
Remain accountable
Cultural Awareness
We recognise that trauma is shaped by broader systems including:
Racism
Poverty
Gender oppression
Queerphobia
Disability exclusion
Colonialism
Social isolation
We aim to hold awareness of these realities within our work.
Facilitator Expectations
Facilitators working with Earth Village CIC are expected to:
Respect participant autonomy
Avoid therapeutic overreach
Work within their competence
Refer participants to professional support where appropriate
Maintain confidentiality where possible
Avoid manipulative or exploitative dynamics
Emotional Support Boundaries
Earth Village CIC spaces are designed for community learning, connection and personal exploration.
They are not a substitute for:

Medical treatment
Where significant safeguarding concerns arise, facilitators may encourage or signpost participants toward professional services.
Commitment to Reflection
We recognise that trauma-informed practice is imperfect and evolving.
We commit to:
