Purpose

Earth Village CIC is committed to creating inclusive, accessible and welcoming spaces where all people are treated with dignity, respect and fairness.

We believe that healing, wellbeing, sexuality, community and personal growth spaces must actively work against discrimination, exclusion and harm.

This policy outlines how Earth Village CIC promotes equality, diversity and inclusion across all activities, events, trainings, partnerships and organisational practices.

Scope

This policy applies to:

  • Directors and staff

  • Freelancers and contractors

  • Volunteers

  • Facilitators and trainees

  • Participants and community members

  • Partner organisations

Our Commitments

Earth Village CIC will:

1. Promote Equal Access

We will work to reduce barriers to participation wherever reasonably possible, including:

  • Financial barriers

  • Physical accessibility barriers

  • Cultural barriers

  • Language barriers

  • Neurodivergent accessibility needs

  • Trauma-related accessibility needs

We recognise that equal treatment does not always mean identical treatment.

2. Oppose Discrimination

We do not tolerate discrimination, harassment or exclusion based on:

  • Age

  • Disability

  • Gender identity

  • Sex

  • Sexual orientation

  • Race or ethnicity

  • Religion or belief

  • Pregnancy or parenthood

  • Marriage or civil partnership

  • Socioeconomic background

  • Neurodivergence

We aim to cultivate environments rooted in:

We acknowledge that community wellbeing work involves power dynamics and emotional vulnerability, and we commit to ongoing reflection and improvement.

4. Commit to Ongoing Learning

Earth Village CIC recognises that inclusion is an ongoing practice.

We commit to:

  • Regular review of policies and practices

  • Listening to feedback

  • Continuing education

  • Addressing harm where it occurs

  • Evolving our approach over time

Accessibility Measures

Where possible, we aim to:

  • Offer sliding scale or subsidised pricing

  • Provide clear event information in advance

  • Offer quiet/rest spaces

  • Use inclusive language

  • Encourage participants to communicate access needs

  • Create opt-in rather than pressure-based participation

Reporting Concerns

Anyone who experiences or witnesses discrimination, harassment or exclusion may report concerns to a director or designated safeguarding contact.

Reports will be:

  • Taken seriously

  • Handled confidentially where possible

  • Reviewed fairly

  • Addressed proportionately

Earth Village CIC reserves the right to remove participants, volunteers or facilitators whose behaviour undermines community safety or inclusion.

Review

This policy will be reviewed annually.
